Got questions, get answers, just ask and someone will be more than glad to get an answer for you. That’s why we have a website. Be sure to check it often for info and all kinds of going’s on.

Ord. Sgt. Grandpa:
Pards, if you have some time this winter and need something to do just get that half inch dowel out and roll some tubes, and if you don’t have a pattern for the cartridge paper I’ll give you one, and the instructions on how to roll them along with powder to put in them. Sure would help me out, I try and keep over 1200 rounds on hand "if" I can for spare, but that don’t always happen soooooo a little help would be nice. Received 12 rolls of very good cartridge paper from a very good friend this will keep us in cartridge paper for a good while, and be able to roll thousands and thousands of tubes.

Our Lt. White:
We know some of you new one’s don’t know him but he’s the young son of our "Miss May" Paula White. He’s been in service (Air Force) since high school. Been to Baghdad and back, and is now a TI stationed in San Antonio Texas. He’s been transferred out of the Air Force to the Army and going to Grand Forks, North Dakota to OCS school to train as a flight engineer and will come out of that school as a 1st Lt. and become a rotary wing pilot, teacher, or fly as a commercial pilot. Seems as though this young man has his mind set on what he wants to do and become. "You have to know this young man to know what he’s all about" says his Grandpa. "He’s been military ever since he was 5 or 6 years old." Ask his mother sometime about him, she can tell you some things he did while that young and you are not going to believe it. But we want to say here you have our best wishes for success, and you’ll do just fine in school because it’s something you want to do, God’s speed Guy.

Classified Ad:
For some of your CW needs check first with SWAMPTHING!!! He has most of the main things you need to get started in the hobby. Canteens, cartridge boxes, cap boxes, belt blanks, buttons and etc. I don’t think you can beat his prices. He can be reached in our camp just ask for him if you need something he might just have it and would save you a long walk to the sutlers maybe. Be sure you check with one of the NCO’s before you buy anything from another sutler to make sure it is correct for our impression.

Ye Didn’t Know?
We bet you didn’t know this little know fact we found out. Our own "Miss May" made the whole front page of the SCV’s monthly issue. She is know as "Dance Caller Extraordinary". A whole article on her was featured in the issue.

News from Hawaii!!
Our cook Kathy Reynolds and kids are doing just fine, and have settled down on base there in Hawaii. Kids are doing great in school and all are in the accelerated classes. All are busy with scouts, music and doing some living history there. "Kathy requested that Grandpa send the boys outfits down so they could do more living history, so he sent Kathy’s and Jena’s also," Ron Meadows (their Grandpa) said. They really enjoyed the outings here in the U.S. and miss them. We hope they will return to the unit when they return to the states as we miss them. They will be coming back in about 3 years or so, so till then have a great time while there in Hawaii and let us hear from yall please!! Your pards in service 2nd KY Vol. Inf. CSA.

Mr. Lincoln:
When Mr. Lincoln was living in Illinois and renting a room there he slept with a man. Question is: Do you know WHO that was? (Bet you didn’t know anything about that, did you?) Answer will be in the next issue of the newsletter.

While on Mr. Lincoln: (a little known fact)
Yankee mythology portrays Lincoln as a compassionate fighter for human rights and liberty. It tells us that he was a man full of love and emotions of tender mercies directed toward the downtrodden, the enslaved, the weak and defenseless masses of mankind. Yet Lincoln, the Northern President, has the dubious distinction of being the only American president who personally ordered the mass execution of Americans whose guilt could not be positively determined! Not only did Lincoln order their execution but he personally participated in the selection of the victims! In 1862 several tribe of Native Americans revolved against the cruel policies of the United States government. General John Pope was sent to Minnesota to put down the uprising. After the end of hostilities, Pope sent a message to Lincoln that, after a trial, he had ordered more than three hundred warriors executed by hanging. The whites of Minnesota were clamoring for the execution of the Indians. Lincoln knew that the "trial" had been a sham, but he also knew that he needed the white votes from Minnesota. His "political" comprise was to make a blood offering to the whites in Minnesota. As a token to appease the whites, Lincoln selected thirty-nine Indian prisoners to be executed. Lincoln carried Minnesota in the next election, but the price was paid by Native Americans. Lincoln is Americas only president to order a mass execution! A man of compassion would not release a monster to prey upon innocent women and children; a humanitarian would not allow a convicted criminal to control military force in an occupied country; a man who believed in charity for all and malice toward none would not release a convicted terrorist and compound the release by re-hiring the terrorist to make war against his enemies; a man of tender mercies would not select victims for mass execution. Remember that this is the same Lincoln whose picture hangs in almost every Southern classroom, the same Lincoln our children are taught to worship, and the same Lincoln who has been defied by Yankee mythology.
